CANDY 4 TROOPS
Please share your Halloween candy with a US Serviceman. Your science teacher will collect Halloween Candy for troops on November 1, 2 and 5.

DOOR CONTEST
Attention Homerooms- Do you have what it takes to make the spookiest, silliest or most creative door this fall? McGee will be holding a door decorating contest to see which homeroom can make the best door. Have your door finished by Tuesday 10/30 to be judged! Winners announce on Halloween!

BOYS BASKETBALL
Tryouts for boys basketball will be held in the gym from 2:30 – 5:00pm on the following dates:
Monday, Nov. 12 for 6th grade
Wednesday, Nov. 14 for 7th grade
Tuesday, Nov. 13 and Thursday, Nov. 15 for 8th grade
Sign up online and complete both the physical form and the permission slip.

McGEE PTO
Join the McGee Middle School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) Membership Drive and earn a free recess for your entire grade! For the next two weeks, 6th, 7th and 8th grade students will compete against one another to see which grade level will have the most parents or guardians join the PTO. PTO supports special events such as McGee's Book Fairs, Dances and the 8th grade trip to Washington DC!

For only $10, your parents or guardians can become members of the McGee PTO! The grade level with the largest increase in memberships between October 15th and November 2nd will earn a free recess period. Keep an eye on your grade level's membership thermometer on display in the cafeteria!

HALLOWEEN DANCE
Friday, October 26th
7pm-9pm
Come in a school appropriate costume and be prepared to have a spooktacular good time! Tickets will be sold during your lunch wave beginning Monday, 10/22. Tickets are $5 if purchased before the dance and $7 at the door. Permission slips are in the office.

GIRLS SOCCER
The McGee girls soccer team ended their season with a 5-1 victory over East Hampton yesterday. Taylor Daniele netted two goals while Alyssa O’Leary, Rose Fas, and Katie Lukens all chipped in one a piece. The girls ended their season with a record of 8 wins, 2 losses, and 1 tie. The the jv game, Katie Allen, Zoey Pajor and Ava Desmarais all scored. Great season girls.

BOYS SOCCER
The McGee boys varsity soccer team defeated East Hampton yesterday 3-0. Brayden Chance had two goals to lead the offense, while Colby Nardelli had a goal and an assist. Neil Patel earned the shutout in goal behind the outstanding defense of Nick Vignone, Kyle Pinto, Manny Leone and Mason Arborio. The team finished the season with a final record of 8 wins, 3 losses and one tie.

The JV team also won their game by a score of 2-0. Tommy Lewis and Michael Abayomi scored off assists from Ryan Hines and Alex Jorge.

CROSS COUNTRY
The girls cross country team survived a close race with Woodrow Wilson at Veteran's Park in Middletown yesterday. With Claudia Jankovich leading the way the girls won by 3 points, 26 to 29. Lizzie Fitzsimmons finished 2nd, Hailey Campanelli 5th, Olivia Cleland 8th and Kaitlyn Tierney 10th secured the win for McGee.

The boys cross country team ran away with an 18-45 victory as McGee placed 15 runners in the top twenty. Austin Vale da Serra place 1st overall followed by Sean Colello in 2nd, Jack Baclaski in 4th, Ryan Brown in 5th, Freddie Martin in 6th, Xander Gabor in 7th, Alex Miloszewski in 8th, Elijah Burgos in 9th, Ryan Mrachek in 10 and Marino Fanelli in 11th.The boys record stands at 8 wins and one loss. They are considered one of the favorites to win the MMSL Championship on Thursday.
