DOOR CONTEST
Attention Homerooms- Do you have what it takes to make the spookiest, silliest or most creative door this fall? McGee will be holding a door decorating contest to see which homeroom can make the best door. Have your door finished by Tuesday 10/30 to be judged! Winners announce on Halloween!

MATH COUNTS

Math Counts next meeting will be on Tuesday, October 30, after school until 3:30 in Room 120.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Tryouts for boys basketball will be held in the gym from 2:30 – 5:00pm on the following dates:
Monday, Nov. 12 for 6th grade
Wednesday, Nov. 14 for 7th grade
Tuesday, Nov. 13 and Thursday, Nov. 15 for 8th grade
Sign up online and complete both the physical form and the permission slip.

McGEE PTO

Join the McGee Middle School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) Membership Drive and earn a free recess for your entire grade! For the next two weeks, 6th, 7th and 8th grade students will compete against one another to see which grade level will have the most parents or guardians join the PTO. PTO supports special events such as McGee's Book Fairs, Dances and the 8th grade trip to Washington DC!

For only $10, your parents or guardians can become members of the McGee PTO! The grade level with the largest increase in memberships between October 15th and November 2nd will earn a free recess period. Keep an eye on your grade level's membership thermometer on display in the cafeteria!

HALLOWEEN DANCE
Friday, October 26th
7pm-9pm
Come in a school appropriate costume and be prepared to have a spooktacular good time! Tickets will be sold during your lunch wave beginning Monday, 10/22. Tickets are $5 if purchased before the dance and $7 at the door. Permission slips are in the office.

CROSS COUNTRY
The cross country teams competed in the MMSL Invitational yesterday afternoon in Cromwell. There were 8 teams in all.
The boy’s team finished second overall as 7 boys earned medals for their top twenty finish.Austin Vale da Serra finished 4th, Sean Colello 8th, Ryan Brown 13th, Alessandro D’Arena 17th, Jack Baclaski 18th, Xander Gabor 19thand Alex Miloszewski finished 20th. There were 180 boys in the race.
The girls team finished in 6thplace as Claudia Jankovich finished in 6thplace. She was followed by Lizzie Fitzsimmons in 23rd,Olivia Cleland in 39th, Haley Campanelli in 40thand Katie Tierney in 48thplace. There were 167 finishers in the girls race.

Next practice is Monday. State Championship meet is next Saturday in Manchester.
