Catherine M. McGee Middle School aims to provide students in grades six, seven, and eight, with engaging learning experiences in both core and exploratory classes. Core classes in grade six currently include a double block of English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Seventh and eighth graders receive core instruction in single periods of World Language, English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. In order to develop and sharpen critical positive thinking habits, models of instructions include studio work in Mathematics and Workshop in Literacy. Students are armed with the spaces and tools necessary for success as each classroom is equipped with a digital projector, one to one chromebook availability, and favorable class size.
In addition to core classes, students at MGee enjoy opportunities in Art, Music, Physical Education, Wellness, Health, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) and personalized learning time in Encore/Quest. Finally, please explore our site for opportunities outside the academic arena that help round out our program and student life at McGee.
